That question is not a weakness. It is wisdom. It means you are paying attention. It means you know that the answer matters.

 

So we will not pretend otherwise. We will not dress this up as something easy, or something only for engineers and executives, or something that the government will handle so you don’t have to.

 

The future of Malaysia is not decided in government corridors or corporate boardrooms. It is decided by 33 million people making individual choices about whether they show up — or step aside.

Here is what AI-ready actually means.

 

It does not mean you know how to code. It does not mean you have a computer science degree, or work in a tech company, or live in Cyberjaya.

It means the teacher in Kuala Kangsar who uses AI to personalise lessons for her students. The factory supervisor in Shah Alam who understands that AI will change his floor — and chooses to lead that change rather than resist it. When the National AI Office chose to back IMAIREADY, it did more than lend its name to a campaign. It signalled to every Malaysian, every company, and every institution in this country that declaring AI-readiness is not optional — it is a national priority. As the government’s principal authority on artificial intelligence policy and strategy, the National AI Office ensures that every pledge made under IMAIREADY carries real institutional weight. This is not a corporate initiative. It is a people’s movement with the backing of Malaysia’s highest AI authority — and that distinction changes everything.

MyDigital

A movement that aims to mobilise 50,000 Malaysians does not succeed on ambition alone. It needs the digital backbone to reach every corner of the country — the student in rural Kelantan, the entrepreneur in suburban Johor, the retiree in Sabah discovering AI for the first time.

 

MyDigital, Malaysia’s premier digital economy agency, provides exactly that. By supporting IMAIREADY with platform expertise, industry networks, and a genuine commitment to digital inclusion, MyDigital turns the movement’s ambition into something technically and logistically real. Its involvement is what makes scale not just possible, but inevitable.

PEOPLElogy

IMAIREADY was born from a conviction that has always sat at the heart of PEOPLElogy: that people are Malaysia’s most powerful competitive advantage.
